Ebook Supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) new Patient Safety Structural Measure

CMS is adding seven new measures to its hospital inpatient quality program as part of the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System Final Rule. The patient safety measure takes effect in 2025, and the remaining measures will begin in 2026.

As part of the Final Rule, beginning in January 2025, hospitals will be required to attest to whether they engage in specific evidence-based best practices within each of five domains. During a CMS survey, hospitals must be able to prove adherence to specific best practices. Digital rounding technology that includes workflow escalation, reporting and analysis, provides a means to keep track of compliance and provide accountability for many of the required practices.

This newly published e-book features insight from experts Beth Miller, System Director of Patient Safety - Performance Improvement for CommonSpirit Health, and Maria Dube, Director of Clinical Programs for Sentact, outlining how digital rounding supports the CMS new Patient Safety Structural Measure to reduce preventable harm and improve care quality, and aids the attestation process.
